Is Smart Farm Manager free to download?
Yes. Smart Farm Manager is free to download on both the App Store and Google Play. What you pay after that depends on the size and type of your operation — a single smallholder plot, a commercial farm and a cooperative with hundreds of member farms are very different setups. Does Smart Farm Manager work in Kinyarwanda?
Yes. Smart Farm Manager works in Kinyarwanda as well as English, so a farmer does not need to read English to use it. It is built for entry-level Android phones and low connectivity, which is what most farmers in the region actually carry, and it is available on iPhone too.
What phone do I need, and does it work offline?
Any entry-level Android phone, or an iPhone. The app is designed for low connectivity rather than a constant fast connection. Heavier work — satellite maps, organisation-level dashboards and reports — can also be done from a laptop browser.
How does the AI crop-disease detection work?
You photograph the affected leaf or plant in the app and get a diagnosis in seconds, across Rwanda's main crops, together with what to do about it. It runs on Hekitari's crop-disease models rather than a generic image search, so the results are tuned to the crops and conditions farmers here actually face.
How do I get an account?
Download the app, then request access through the form on hekitari.com. Our team sets up your account to fit your operation and reaches out with your credentials in under 12 hours. Cooperatives and organisations get role-based access, so each member manages their own fields while an administrator sees the overview across all member farms.
